As some of you know, I nourrish a huge passion for shamanism but also for mythology or Jungian psychology. This year has been very insightful for me as it helps me to go deeper and deeper into myself. I have found more spirits allies than I could wish for. Spirit allies that have became my friends. I watched a really interesting tv show the other day about a choirmaster who made a tv series last year about a choir's Journey. He's a young guy who took a group of teenagers from an inner city type area school who had never sung in a choir, tutored them and took them to a world choir competition in China: the draw for many of them to get involved being that if they worked hard etc they might get to go to China. It was amazing to see the change in those kids....

I was chatting to a friend on the outskirts of this topic a little while back but it has come back again so I wondered if any had an opinion on it here...

Which comes first: pleasure or desire? Or are the two so inextricably linked that seperating them is impossible? I have a couple of sentences to illustrate the question:

This morning...a Sunday, when I normally write in my journal,

Sunday and a blank page,
which is exactly what my day is for me.

I did have one thing to do on a schedule...I had to get ready to drive my youngest to work, but otherwise the day is open for me to create as I choose (my favourite days to be truthful)...

Over the past few days I have entered or started threads about the Medicine Wheel, Visions Quests, etc. Not all here as it seemed sort of redundant to threads already ongoing or items in the notes sections. Eagle singing asked in the Castlerigg threaad for a photo of me when I am not scowling lol! I don't like having my photo taken: which I think came from the fact that I put on a lot of weight in the last few years, that I have now lost after starting back in teh gym again. I was always really fit into my early to mid thirties six pack et al, so I hated seeing myself with a big belly!

The first pic was on a ferry going to Orkney in O4. I had a bit of weight on...

warrior societies

Could anyone discuss the warrior aspect of native american societies?

I understand it from a protection perspective but am perplexed by the statement we are warrior societes when discussing the fact that native americans from canada can join the US army. I understand that tribes cross international boundaries Still if one was a Canadian why would one join the US army. The answers were for the benefits, because we are a warrior society, because what happened once will not happen...
